Abstract/Summary

Executive Summary. Illuminary Corporation is a corporation that is formed to answer the needs of consumers. It is located at 6 Diamond Street UP Professor's Subdivision Tandang Sora, Quezon City.

The primary market of the attractive and versatile lamp is composed of households located in Valle Verde Village, White Plains, Levitown, Filinvest, Vista Valley, and Antel Platinum Tower Condominium. The total popultaion of the primary market is 5,000 units. Three hundred and twelve households in these villages were selected through systematic random sampling and were surveyed by requesting them to answer a carefully formulated and pre tested questionnaire. Upon completion of the survey, the data gathered were analyzed. The market acceptability rate of the Cand-a-Bulb was determined to be.

Using the time and motion study, the proponents determined that for the Cand-a-Bulb the assembly line method would be the most effective method of production. The whole manufacturing process sequenced as this: Process A involves applying of petroleum jelly to the mold. Process B involves the melting of the paraffin wax and the retaining of the temperature at 98 centigrade. Process C involves pouring of the wax in to the mold. Process D involves the first cooling down of the wax in a bucket of water. Process E involves the insertion of decorations into the wax. Process F involves the second cooling down of the wax in a bucket of water. Process G involves setting up of electrical assembly. Process H involves the perforating of the wax. Process I involves the drying of the wax. Process J involves removing of the dried wax from the mold. Process K involves the smoothing of the molded wax. Process L involves installing of the electrical assembly on molded wax. And lastly, Process M involves putting of the product into the paper bag.

Within one production day, an average of 25 units of the product can be produced. Maximum output is 36 units, while the minimum output is 13 units. Cycle time for the production of such as inflation and economic recession. Keeping and open mind will definitely make the business a successful one.
