Abstract/Summary

Computer programs using touch-based gestures have become more common now with the advent of tablet computers and other devices that incorporate touch screen technology. A large portion of these programs are devoted to games and other entertainment purposes. To better utilize the capabilities of tablet computer, more productive touch-based programs aside from games can be created. With the use of a Tablet PC utilizing the Android OS, we created a multi-touch gesture based 2D Paint system for the Android OS that caters to users not only in the entertainment aspect but also to help them express their creativity by allowing them to create works of art. To create these works of art, the system allows the user to make free from drawings, shape objects and to perform modeling transformation on these drawings. Other functionalities such as file management and undo/redo operations are also present to give the user more options for creating works of art. The target platform is a tablet computer that runs at least Android OS version 3.2. The test tablet computer used is the Asus Eee Pad Transformer. With this, we hope to contribute by creating a more productive application.
