Abstract/Summary

Color detection is used to track and monitor Philippine monetary bills within a specified frame. In implementing the study, a web camera is placed on top of a white surface. The frame covered by the camera is divided into three parts: the area of the cash register, the customer side and the warning areas. Each of the detected bills is enclosed in a box, with a pair of coordinates denoting its centroid. The coordinates are analyzed and are used to determine the exact location of the detected bill. Using Microsoft Excel as a database, the coordinates of the centroids are stored during offline processing. A warning will appear on the database ever time the presence of monetary bills is detected within the boundaries of the warning areas. This study aims to apply this system in everyday transactions among business establishments to lessen
