Abstract/Summary
This study used a descriptive-qualitative approach in analyzing the queridas' self-concept, goals and aspirations. Pakikipagkuwentuhan was utilized as the primary instrument in gathering data along with the Draw-A-Person Projective Test. Nine female queridas from Luzon were chosen as subjects through chain referral and purposive sampling techniques. Carl Rogers' Self-Theory was used as a framework in analyzing the queridas' self-concept while their goals and aspirations were analyzed separately. Results showed that there was a discrepancy between the real and ideal self-perceptions of the queridas. Their real self-perceptions were negative in contrast to their ideal self-perceptions, which were aiming high. The queridas have high aspirations but have directed their goals towards their children.
