Abstract/Summary
This is a descriptive study on how street children from selected areas of Metro Manila form friendship. The researchers made use of the in-depth interview method in acquiring data significant to the study. Twelve participants were chosen through the use of purposive convenient sampling. Eight male and four female participants were asked what characteristics of a person they see in a friend, the factors that promote and hinder in forming friendship and also the steps that they go through in befriending a person. From the results that was gathered and analyzed, the researchers found out that majority of the participants look at friendship as a beneficial relationship. The factors that promote and hinder friendship were noted Stages of formation of friendship were also identified.
