Abstract/Summary
The paper discusses how attachment and attraction play in age-discrepant relationships. Since the said kind of relationship goes against the natural mating selection, the present study aims to show how age-discrepant relationships work and know the experience of the individuals who engage in it. There were 4 themes present in the study namely: type of Friendship that Obliterates Age Gap, Lack of Confidence Towards the Relationship, Constant Presence and Insights. The results revealed that the time spent together, similarities and physical appearances causes attraction in age-discrepant relationships. Furthermore, attraction also acts as a starting point in their relationship. On the other hand, attachment is formed when there is a sense of security and support within the couple. The paper aims to make the readers understand the said phenomenon and to minimize discrimination, prejudice and stereotypes present regarding such relationships in the present society.
