Abstract/Summary

The necessity for both parents to work outside made yayas an essential aspect of Filipino families. Ate Oying expounds on the story of a yaya who has been working for the Peralta family for 53 years. The work is distinct because of its tendencies to create an unclear line between work and personal life having the employee live with the employer. Such working environment assumes unique factors to motivate an employee resulting to longer service for the employer. Through the story of Ate Oying, this documentary explores those factors that maintained her loyalty for three generations of the Peralta family.
