Abstract/Summary
The goal of this thesis is to design a student attendance and academic performance monitoring system as a mobile application. The group utilizes Local Binary Pattern Histogram (LBPH) algorithm for the facial recognition. This project is implemented through Android operating system platform. By doing this research, it can be able to help the problems in attendance checking in classes. Letting the students confirm their attendance through mobile phones would save time. Furthermore, this study helps in the evaluation of the performance of the students. The professors can easily view the results of the activity and convey it to the students.
