Abstract/Summary

A study of marine gastropod shells was conducted last April and May 1992 in the Northern and Western portion of Ilocos Norte particularly in the towns of Pasuquin, Currimao and Burgos. Pasuquin has a sandy substratum, Currimao has a sandy muddy substratum and Burgos has a sandy substratum. Collections for the three towns were done during low tide. The area of collection was in the shore and extending to a depth not exceeding 3 feet. A total of sixty four species of marine gastropod shells were collected and identified. The specimen belonged to one subclass, three orders, eleven superfamilies, nineteen families and twenty nine genera.
