Abstract/Summary
The study was undertaken to evaluate the productivity of Volvariella volvacea among the different substrate combinations of rice straw, banana leaves and composted sawdust.Rice straw + banana leaves (1:1), rice straw + banana leaves (3:1), pure rice straw and pure banana leaves showed remarkable yields, respectively, 154.0 g, 150.3 g, 149.1 g, and 148.6 g compared to the other substrates used in terms of 1) fresh weight (g) of mushroom produced and 2) biological conversion efficiency (BCE).
