Abstract/Summary

Macro-benthic algae were collected in Aguila Beach Resort, Anilao, Mabini, Batangas using a transect line parallel to the shore. Of the sixteen species identified, two belonged to division Chlorophyta, six to Phaeophyta, and eight to Rhodophyta and all were found to be economically important. Ecological factors such as air and water temperature were found to range from 27-31 centigrade and from 26-30 centigrade respectively pH from 7.0-7.5 and salinity from 28-31 ppt. Among the three divisions, Rhodophyta has the greatest number of species having seven genera and eight species which could be attributed the aforementioned ecological factors being measured.
