Abstract/Summary
Many Filipinos ride the ferries because it is usually the only available form of transportation within the Philippines. A passenger manifest is an important document that every ferry operator must submit. However, its reliability can be in question. By using RFID tagged boarding passes, the passenger manifest can be generated automatically. The system developed in this study is designed to generate the passenger manifest and make it available online. this allows the authorities to remotely monitor the passengers onboard a particular the ferry voyage. Using Electronic Boarding Passes may also improve passenger convenience. It can also be a great tool for ferry operators to ensure that only legitimate passengers can board the ferries.
