Abstract/Summary

INQUAR Industries Incorporated is a company in the Philippines that has an ISO 14000 certification. The company produces specialized quality products and provides exemplary construction services. With the growing competition and increasing environmental awareness of the industry, companies started to incorporate ISO 14000 in their businesses, this made INQUAR Industries Incorporated a more acceptable company for its specialization due to the possession of the said ISO. In this paper, the proponents are interested in knowing whether the ISO 14000 has an effect to a company, specifically, on the human resource practices and its relation with organizational commitment.

Based from literature, human resource practices are related to human resource outcomes through the incorporation of organizational culture. Furthermore, it is also established that green human resource practices are different from normal practices. That green human resource practices are deemed to be more effective in establishing organizational commitment. To prove this notion, the researchers distributed survey questionnaires to employees who have worked in INQUAR Industries Incorporated before the certification of ISO 14000 and to workers after its implementation. This provided substantial data for the study. Upon finishing the analysis of the test, the researchers were able to conclude that ISO 14000 related human resource practices has a significant relation between organizational commitment and human resource practices specifically, training and compensation.
