Abstract/Summary

In the earlier part of the 21st century, the Internet cafe industry experienced an exponential growth, which was manifested through the mushrooming of the said business in the country. However, the pace gradually slowed down due to the increase of competition as well as the availability of other channels of Internet connection allowing individuals to access the Internet at the comfort of their own homes or at commercial establishments. In this light, the researchers wanted to analyze whether such changes in the lifestyle and advancements in technology have affected the Internet cafe businesses.

In order to analyze the data, the researchers used the frequency count in order to obtain a more meaningful result. The analysis of the data revealed that the consumer lifestyle changes and technological advancements has significantly affected the publics usage of Internet cafes. It was brought to light how people have a high demand for efficiency, making them independent in terms of their Internet connection. This information can be affirmed as majority of the Internet cafe owners experienced a decrease in the number of people availing their service.

Although the Internet Cafe business is not going away soon, Internet cafe owners must be flexible in order to overcome the threats and combat the present decline that they are currently experiencing by taking advantage of the opportunities that lies ahead of them.
