Abstract/Summary

XYZ Corporation is one of the biggest flour milling companies in the Philippines. It holds its headquarters in Cebu and three offices located in Metro Manila, Tarlac, and Davao City. Given the different locations of their offices, the company invested on a video conferencing system for easier communication and information dissemination purposes. In order to examine the benefits and the employees' perceived advantages of the system, the researchers conducted a series of interviews and surveyed the employees of the company. As a result of these research methodologies, it has been discovered that there was an improvement in the company's communications after the application of video conferencing. There were many efforts that needed to be done in order to transmit very important information before the utilization of video conferencing. After the application of the system, the researchers discovered that the video conferencing system was able to provide a positive impact on the company. The surveys answered how the employees in the company perceived the advantages of the application of video conferencing. The employees answered positively to the variables under perceived advantages such as communication, company reputation, knowledge management, staff morale and flexibility. Through the survey, the researchers proved that the employees strongly agree that the system applied has helped them in the different important aspects of the company's operations. As a recommendation, the researchers believe that there is a need for the organization to make the system more accessible to the users by installing it to the laptops in the work place, distribution of information sheets and usage policies regarding the use of the system, broadening the scope of training of non-IT employees and recording of the duration of the meeting for back-up files purposes Aside from that, additional microphones should be installed in every office to accommodate the growing number of users.
