Abstract/Summary
This study aims to explore the definition, behaviors, and influences of dating among Filipino adolescents. The researchers used a qualitative method involving two phases: four focus group discussions and 10 in-depth interviews. Both methods consisted of male and female college students aged 16-24. Findings revealed the following categories: definition of dating, views/attitude towards dating, activities in dating, behaviors in dating, influences in dating, and types of dating. These imply that the difference between males and females lie in the roles they portray during a date. However, in other aspects such views, attitudes and influence, results did not vary much between the two sexes.
