Abstract/Summary

This research paper explored the existence of or lack of significant relationship between organizational culture and three financial performance indicators (revenue growth, profit growth and asset growth) among small and medium enterprises within Metro Manila. The hypotheses of the study were then tested by gathering data from seventy-five (75) small or medium businesses on their organizational operations, management practices as financial standing. The results of the study were collected via survey method. Through which, the proponents of the study concluded that either the form was problematic in terms of applicability or that there are other underlying factors to the survival or success of these local firms. Upon trying to relate the number of employees and years in operation to the four cultural types respectively, the group also found that there is no linear trend that describes the culture type as a probable function of either information of the businesses surveyed. It is thus recommended to refine the existing instrument to be more tailor-fitted to characteristics or profile of the sector in question, to consider other performance indicators such as quality and customer satisfaction or to look into other possible factors that drive financial performance indicators.
