Abstract/Summary
This research discusses an authoring tool that creates presentations that support two-dimensional navigation with layers for a mobile device, specifically for the iPad. Many of the current authoring tools available in the market do not support vertical navigation, and it is much rarer for them to support layers, which are additional pages within a particular page that provide extra information to present an idea or explanation better. Since presentations in various forms such as slideshows, magazines, and brochures are very widely used today, the addition of vertical navigation and layers together would greatly improve their function. Furthermore, the use of mobile devices has been rising and the availability of such presentations in these devices is very useful, considering their portability. The authoring is designed to not require the user to have programming skills in order to create presentations for the mobile device. Usability testing was performed authoring tool and garnered impressive results that proved its ease of use and earned all of the users recommendations. The same authoring tool and intermediate representation was used to test deploy to the Android platform. Issues on Android deployment are also discussed.
