Abstract/Summary
This Educational video is about the Agos River Buffer Zone Project of General Nakar Initiatives, Inc. In 2004, when massive landslides occurred and cataclysmic floods followed, it destroyed the municipalities of General Nakar and Infanta Quezon. Right after the disaster, the organization GENADEV Inc. initiated the Agos River Buffer Zone (ARBZ) Project, a multi-sectoral, integrated and community based undertaking which aims to re-establish the river's riparian buffer zone in order to protect communities from flooding, restore ecological balance and promote sustainable community livelihood endeavors. The organization has several objectives for the ARBZ project, one of which is to conduct a series of information and education campaign for the residents of Nakar to educate the residents on how to create a riparian buffer zone and understand how this could help them and protect them from the geo-hazards that surround their residence. This educational video will supplement the lectures of the organization and aims to simplify the explanation of the process of creating the riparian buffer zone during their educational campaigns. This video will be on DVD format and the average length is about 12 minutes.
