Abstract/Summary
This documentary about retired Society of Divine Word priests shows the present issues and problems confronting the retired and sick priests in Villa Cristo Rey, a retirement and nursing home for SVD bishops, priests, and brothers located inside the Christ the King Mission Seminary, Quezon City (VCR @ 20,7).
Contrary to the study conducted by Hoge who explained that the top four problems priests face are too much work', 'loneliness of priestly life', 'the way authority is too heavy-handed in the Church', and 'living a celibate life' (24-25), priests in Villa Cristo Rey see their priestly life and retirement as a positive connotation and preparation for their decline and inevitable, death.
