Abstract/Summary
The thesis study prepared is a systems study in which it targets to evaluate the operations and processes of a dental clinic and in this particular thesis, one clinic opened up for data gathering and this is the Averia Dental Clinic. The specific objectives of the system is (1) to have zero complaints from the patients 92) to have no service time delays in all the dental services (3) to have no rework for any services performed.
It was found that the dental clinic lost P93, 550 due to the 12 customer who had reworks from the time period January 2011 to January 2012. These 12 customers who had reworks were based on the sampled 85 regular customers. Assessment and evaluation of the clinic were conducted to find out the main causes of these reworks. It was found out that the 3 root causes are improper hygiene, laboratorys failure to meet desired specifications and improper habit of the customer. With these root causes, the study then proposed a system for Averia Dental Clinic wherein a standardized method in placing and receiving orders to/from the dental laboratory will be used to avoid any errors or defects in the dental cosmetics being ordered from the laboratory. Another solution is the implementation of the Patient-Clinic Standard service Checklist and Agreement Form. These protocols or policies will be used for all the customers availing the services of the clinic. This assures that the clinic has done its part to give the best service it could give to its customers. The cost incurred by the clinic amounts to P32,000 and the solutions contributes to a benefit of P45, 560.
