Abstract/Summary
The study is about the level of hope influencing the female football athletes level of resilience from their negative experiences in the last competition (UAAP Season 73) and level of resilience influencing the level of competitive disposition to the upcoming competition (UAAP Season 74). The study was conducted to the womens football athletes that are part of the UAAP season 74. The hope was measured through the State Hope Scale. The competitive disposition of the female football athletes was measured through Resilience Scale. The competitive disposition of the female football athletes was measured through the Hypercompetitiveness Attitudes Scale. To give a basis for their hope and resilience, the researchers included open-ended questions to find out the negative experiences that they felt hindered their performance in their previous UAAP season. Their hope towards the upcoming season influences the resiliency to cope with their negative experiences and able to influence their competitive disposition in their upcoming UAAP season. Result of the study showed significance in hope influencing resilience shown in De La Salle University-Manila resulting to DLSU to bounce back from their negative experience and enter the finals of the current UAAP and significance in resiliency influencing competitive disposition showed in University of Santo Tomas that lead them to being champions of the current UAAP, this study may suggest that being able to connect hope, resilience and competitive disposition of an athlete may produce progression on the athletes performance. The findings show that because only one schools (DLSU-M) hope affects their resilience, the researchers cannot generalize that hope influences a female football athletes resilience. The researchers cannot generalize or infer that resilience influence the athletes competitive disposition since based in the researchers findings, one school (UST) only showed resilience influencing their competitive disposition.
