Abstract/Summary
The study aims to focus on conflict management among managers and employees in Basic Books Incorporated which includes the profile of the respondents, their understanding of conflicts, the types of conflicts encountered or experienced in the organizations, the perceived factors of the conflict, its manifestations, the effects that conflict brings in the company, and the conflict management of the both the managers and employees. Data were gathered and collected through the use of the survey instrument conducted among the six managers and 30 employees of the said industry. Results and findings reveal that the majority of the respondents are single and are between the ages of 26-30, and most having attained a degree in college. More than half of the respondents have been employed in the company for at least three years. Though the definitions and understanding of conflict among the respondents are more or less similar based on the data from the survey instruments, the managers and employees have different experiences and encounters on types of conflicts. The reason why managers and employees have different perceptions about conflict is because there are differences in their priorities and how they manifest it, this is due to their differences in the nature of work, experiences and background. Despite the differences among managers and employees, most of them if not all were able to handle the conflicts effectively and were able to utilize and employ effective management which brought a positive outcome in the organization.
