Abstract/Summary
Occurrence of fire especially among the C and D bracket of our society has been rampant. The Association of Philippine Volunteer Fire Brigades, Inc. has exerted much effort in fire fighting however, prevention is still the best way to address the problem.
A communication research on awareness on fire causes and prevention had been conducted through a survey. The survey aimed to determine the awareness of the C and D community of Sta. Clara District in Pasay City on common causes and situations of fire. The data obtained served as a foundation of the design of the poster campaign, which will help counter ignorance and generate awareness thus, prevent fire.
Situations such as improper discarding of cigarette butts, storing of old papers or unimportant documents and bottles with flammable content were among those found to be very risky because of people's low awareness of its potential hazard.
