Abstract/Summary
Nowadays, the ability to achieve work-life balance is becoming increasingly difficult. Numerous extensive research has been done to analyze the importance of work-life balance to one's life and it has been found that it greatly affects well-being since both personal life and work are considered to be two of the most valuable aspects in life. In line with this, the nature and purpose of this study is to expound on the aforementioned topic by measuring the work-life balance of Baby Boomers, generation X, and Millennials with regards to motivation as point of comparison. Through the use of a 28-item questionnaire, the researchers were able to assess the work-life balance of these three by gathering a total of 168 respondents. Results show that there is a significant difference in the work-life balance amongst generations, specifically in Baby Boomers and Generation X with the former obtaining the highest score. Millennials closely follows Generation X however, their score do not appear to significantly differ from the other two generations. Through this, it is seen how Baby Boomers have the best work-life balance because of how they are able to control the level of work life or personal life interference that occurs while Generation X is more concentrated on personal life and Millennials, work life.
