Abstract/Executive Summary

Founded in 2024, UrbanCycle is a student-led business that aims at sustainability through the upcycling of discarded denim into practical, stylish, and multi-functional tote bags. It is a sole proprietorship for hassle-free registration with Angelo Aristorenas as its owner, assisted by managers who are in product development and design, marketing, finance, and customer relations. With big-name and local brands as its competition in the bag industry, the brand makes its edge by standing out with its ‘every bag is unique’ concept and its strong commitment to sustainability. Its marketing strategy, especially on TikTok, has received massive engagement, wherein one post received more than 2.5 million views and more than 305,200 likes. This strong online engagement translated well, as it sold out all 40 units in its first launch at the first bazaar held at the DLSU Laguna Campus. UrbanCycle generated ₱26,220 in sales from an initial investment of  ₱21,500, which was equally contributed by each member. This income will be reinvested in preparation for the second bazaar later this year. UrbanCycle plans to build on this success by continually making innovative upcycled denim products that become a staple in everyday accessories. In order to safeguard its brand, showcase its items, and provide customers with personalized shopping experiences, UrbanCycle intends to register its intellectual property with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) and create an AI-powered e-commerce website. Moving forward, AI-driven trend forecasting will refine design based on real-time customer preferences.
