Pectinia plicata

Corallum attached by narrow base. Folia plicated, 4.5 mm thick at base; apices almost even, notched to different depth.
Calices deep, around 5 cm; frequently with lateral calices (oririmes) on wall; in irregular series, up to 2 cm wide.
Septa in 4 cycles, very unequal. Primaries thick, becoming very prominent and spiny towards calicinal borders. Other septa becoming lower or obsolete towards border. Septal spines fine, more regular and larger towards columella, unequally distant towards periphery.
Costae denticulate, unequal in height; distinct in upper portion, discontinuous towards base.
Columella rather distinct, very loose mass of septal trabeculae.
