Corallum explanate, frondose, horizontal or almost so in position; folded, its free edge very thin (0.5 mm).
Lower surface non-epithecate, marked with distinct, distant costae bearing scattered, stout spines (2.5 mm high) with tips broken into several spinules. Costae and spaces between covered with fine, abundant granules.
Upper surface with very distinct septocostae of 2 kinds – thick ones (1 mm or slightly more) bearing sparse, very prominent lobes reaching 3 mm high, 2 mm or more across at bases, heavily spinulose on apical portion; thin ones variable, interposed between two neighboring thick septocostae, bearing sparse low slender spine, some of which are smooth, other with fimbriated tips. Around calices, lobes and spines more prominent, more spinulose.
Corallites even with surface, unevenly distant, surrounded at older portion with much thicker lobes, not so on younger portion although spines become higher and more spinulose. Calices vertical, without surrounding wall. Slits on broad peritheca small, most already filled up.
Septa 12 or less, all reaching columella. Older corallites have less septa (7-8) but much inflated. Edges vertical.
Columella large in younger corallites, reduced in old ones consisting of a platform with some inclined tubercles.
