This is a foveolate or glabro-foveolate, ramose colony consisting of crowded vertical stems and branches; the living portion c. 8 cm high. Stem cylindrical, 7 mm across, expanding upwards. Branches cylindrical or slightly flattened, nondivergent so that longitudinal fusion takes place; sides swollen in some places so diameter becomes irregular. Terminal branchlets gradually tapered, apices conical or drawn out preparatory to bifurcation, one branchlet 15 mm high, 5 mm high, 5 mm wide at middle.
Corallites very distinct, almost evenly distributed, less than a calicular diameter apart, c. 0.8 mm in diameter, surrounded with thick ring, almost smooth in young corallites (towards apices), spinulous in older ones. Septa obsolete, except 1, 2, or 3 which project very slightly from wall.
Intercalicinal areas occupied with rows of platelets with spinulose borders arranged life roulette wheels or stacked kitchen plates viewed from the side. Roulette appearance specially obvious in old corallites toward base of corallum. In younger regions, intercalicinal areas raised into ramparts accentuating foveolation of surface around corallites; reticulation noticeable; platelets not yet close to each other.
