Corallum closely arborescent; base small; branches crowded, terete, widely expanded at level of ramification; coalescent, in some cases longitudinal fusion marked only by groove. Terminal branchlets nondivergent, tapering into conical apices: one branchlet 6 mm across at base, 1.8 cm long. Surface almost glabrous at base where tubercles are absent or very low; sparsely tuberculate on younger region.
Calicles distinct, evenly disposed all over, flush with surface but apparently immersed towards apices because of surrounding tubercles. Calices small, 0.5 to 0.8 mm across. Primaries narrow, usually slightly short of radius midpoints; directives only occasionally recognizable by their expansion at bottom of calicinal fossa. Tiny secondaries occasionally found – usually one to three.
Tubercles low; conspicuous on young portions where they stand without apparent relation to calicles or may broaden to appear as lower lip to some of them; very seldom join to produce ridges even on apical areas. On basal areas, tubercles absent on some portion. Intercalicinal reticulum conspicuous – meshes round, much narrower than threads. Where tubercles are absent, threads bear low spines fimbriated tips.
