Corallum explanate, reniform, attached at one side; widest diameter 10 cm, radius 5.3 cm; edge around 2 mm, reflexed upward; central region 9.5 mm thick. Upper surface uneven due to concentric wrinkles and slight nodules. Lower surface completely covered with epitheca up to around 1 mm from edge; heavily encrusted with invertebrates.
Calicles conspicuous, evenly disposed, crowded, separated only by their walls; average diameter 0.7 mm, flush with surface. Calice circular or almost so, circumscribed by distinct ring; fossa deep.
Primaries moderately thick; reaching half radius points; oftentimes joined at bottom of fossa to produce columella. Directives slightly wider than other primaries. Secondaries in form of very tiny spines; only 1 or 2 occasionally present.
Intercalicinal reticulum practically nonexistent because of closeness of calicles. Tubercles arise on circumcalicinal ring, enclosing circular or polygonal space (containing the calicles) which are distinctly recognizable even with unaided eyes.
