Corallum a lax cluster of divergent, very irregular stems and branches arising from very limited creeping base; 10 cm high, 14 x 9 cm across at the top. Limited palmation at level of ramification or coalescence. Big branches, 7-10 mm across, cylindrical at base, become flat, broad and finally break up into number of terminal branchlets. Terminal branchlets mostly tapering, sides angular; up to 1.5 cm high, around 6 mm across at base. Surface of corallum from base to apex very rough.
Calicles conspicuous, vertical except those close to apices; around 0.8 mm diameter, very unevenly distributed; all elevated above surface, either carried upward by one or more papillae or by slender but conspicuous ring circumscribing calice. Calices on lower areas slightly smaller than those on upper areas.
Septa below calicinal rim. Primaries reaching radius half points; directives seldom distinguishable. Secondaries tiny, usually incomplete cycle. Loculi petaloid.
Papillae various shapes and sizes, vertical or almost so to surface, not always crowded; on terminal branchlets produce longitudinal ridges; their association with calicles as underlip or rampart around not always obtaining. Spaces between papillae covered laxly with very fine low spinules with pointed or slightly granulose tips. Intercalicinal reticulum coarse (meshes narrower than threads), well seen at apical regions and depressions, slightly so among crowded papillae.
