Corallum pin cushion-shaped, 11 cm across. Few incipient branches with young corallites distinguishable on upper surface. Young buds limited to peripheral corallites and those on incipient branches.
Corallites around 3 mm apart, rather equidistant; vertically constricted so that calices distinctly lobed; in some cases constriction so deep it almost divides calice into 2, 3, 4 or even 5 parts; widest calice 12 mm diameter. Young ones usually circular.
Septa in 4 cycles; occasionally in big corallites a few septa of fifth cycle present as very low elevations. Primaries and secondaries thick, exsert up to 4 mm; reaching columella. Those of higher cycles lower, thin. Septal edge entire, sharp; surface coarsely, sparsely granulate.
Costae almost uniformly thicker than septa, glabrous, limited to extreme upper portion of wall so that lower portion very smooth.
Columella obsolete in adult corallite; quite distinct in young ones. Peritheca with vesicles fairly large, mostly closed; in some places elongate.
