Colony dendroid; stem attached to substratum by heavy base 12 mm across, 80 mm high but bent around 90 degrees from vertical.
Corallites arise without any discernible pattern, except towards apex of stem where they arise in pairs in some cases only; they project towards all directions. Some large ones produce 1 or 2 buds at sides, below calicinal rim. Most mature corallites turbinate – average sized one 9 mm across at base, 15 mm across at apex, 46 mm high (tallest 55 mm) – few subcylindrical. Calice oval, 12 x 14 mm across; fossa deep (16 mm) ridges against inner thecal surface, exhibiting conspicuous Pourtales arrangement. All septa, except the 4 widest ones, begin as very low ridges at calicinal rim. Septal edge entire; septal surface very finely granulate.
Costae even in height, as least twice as thick as intervening furrow, slightly sinuous. Fine pores line the furrows.
Columella very conspicuous, distinctly oval, consisting of numerous twisted tiny leaves.
