Abstract/Executive Summary
The study aimed to measure the awareness, attitudes, and perceived educational value of Spiritual Retreats among Grade 12 Senior High School Students in a non-sectarian school setting, as a proposal for an inclusive and cost-effective activity. The study addresses the lack of implementation of Spiritual retreats in a non-sectarian school with the researchers having employed a Non-Experimental Descriptive design, along with the use of four-point Likert scale. Findings revealed that despite attending a non-sectarian institution, students exhibit a high level of awareness, positive attitude, and interest toward the discussion of spiritual retreats and its purpose. In addition, data gathered established that students understood and perceived the educational value of spiritual retreats as meaningful and important in terms of cultivating self-understanding and personal growth. The respondents perceived that participating in such activities can help them gain deeper insights about themselves and develop a better understanding regarding their holistic well-being. The study presents practical insights on the benefit and proper understanding of spiritual retreats from a non-sectarian school context, as a means for a possible event that remains suitable, inclusive, and cost-effective, all while focusing on benefitting the well-being of students. Additionally, it provides theoretical contributions for future studies related to the matter of spiritual retreats. The study provided positive results as the responses of the participants signify a progressive level of agreement toward the variables awareness, attitudes, and perceived educational value. Thus, the results of the study suggest that students are willing to attend and engage in spiritual retreats.
