Abstract/Executive Summary
The Guidance and Counseling service has been considered as vital in every educational institution. Guidance and Counseling services are there to help each student with their skills and career potential. However, it fails to draw the attention and interest of the students to utilize its service leading the researcher to conduct this research. The study sought to examine the perception and attitudes of the grades 10-12 students of Hope Christian High School (HCHS) towards the role of Guidance and Counseling Service (GCS), as well as determining the relationship between perception and attitude towards the role of GCS, by using a modified questionnaire from Otanga, 2015 along with mean and index score. Results showed a positive perception and attitude from the students towards the role of GCS. However, based on the study it also showed that despite the positive perception and attitude of the grades 10-12 students of HCHS towards the role of GCS, it did not translate to a help-seeking attitude. Resulting in a low percentage of grades 10-12 students seeking counseling service.
