Abstract / Executive Summary
Sibuan-otong Integrated School is a small educational institution that encompasses Kindergarten to Senior High School. Nestled amidst fields and mountains, the local community primarily relies on agriculture for its livelihood. Recent data indicates that students enjoy their science classes, however, many students struggle with memorizing terms and definitions, as well as grasping key concepts and processes, largely due to a lack of resources. Teachers have noted that while students are generally active and enthusiastic during experiments and activities, some are hesitant to share their ideas, believing that Science is only for the exceptionally intelligent. Additionally, educators face challenges in teaching Science, including insufficient resources such as textbooks and laboratory equipment, limited teaching strategies, and restrictions in lesson planning. Survey responses reveal a strong willingness among both teachers and students to collaborate with the Science Department. The project aims to enhance scientific literacy among learners. Additionally, it seeks to enrich the teaching and learning experiences for both teachers and students, fostering a more engaging and effective educational environment. The SCI- skwela, and the AGHAMazing are both targeting SDG 4 (Quality Education). PUNONG kalikasan and Seek-Sali-SCIk target the SDG 13 (Climate Action). Waste and Ease targets the SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Protection). The PLC targets the SDG 17 (Partnerships of Goals). These will be given to all learners of SOIS simultaneously from Grade 6 – 12. To evaluate the effectiveness of this program, pre-tests and post-tests will be done for the students. And evaluation tool for the teachers.
