Abstract/Summary

Action research on facilitating computer-mediated online collaboration for a remote company" by Samantha Isabel V. Coronado-Antonio explores how a start-up company in the development sector facilitated online collaborations using various synchronous and asynchronous virtual communication strategies. It follows the journey of a newly-created team that explored ways to enable a cross-functional group to own their roles within a new project, increase prioritization of tasks, and accomplish the project together without face-to-face communications. The study identifies factors that affect online collaboration and recommends courses of action useful for organizations transitioning into partially or fully remote work set-up and who are interested in enhancing team collaboration, communication, and connection.
