Abstract/Summary
Ever since the internet became common knowledge, it has given way to people to connect to the online sphere. People have started creating their own communities that would help them connect with others from a distance. That is either near them or miles away from them, thus helping them branch themselves out without fear. Being connected virtually also gives entertainment to its users. Enter the world of online gaming the most sought after entertainment by not only the youth but by people everywhere. One of the most popular games, World of Warcraft is a massive multiplayer online game that anyone can play, create a character and start on their journey in a fantasy world completing quests and defeating monsters. It created a world phenomenon where people throughout the world had a game where everyone and anyone could play it and could connect and create communities called clans where you had to be invited or sought out by these communities to be a part of something special (Gui, 2). It paved the way for games like Genshin Impact which is now one of the most successful games because of the fundamentals that were built by World of Warcraft (“Why Genshin Impact Is Taking the World By Storm”). But World of War wasn’t built in a day; it also took elements from other games like Dungeons and Dragons where it had elements similar to World of Warcraft where players can choose their class types (druid, priest, mage, shaman, warlock, warrior, paladin, and hunter) and race (orcs, forsaken (undead), tauren, trolls, and blood elves) and distribute skill points to their stats or attributes which are the building blocks to a World of Warcraft characters combat ability (strength, agility, stamina, and intellect) respectively by completing quests and killing monsters.
