Abstract/Summary

This action research is about establishing an Enterprise Social Network called Yammer as a tool for strategic organizational knowledge-sharing and collaboration at Zuellig Pharma Corporation. The methodology used is the action research cycle wherein the researcher and the collaborators worked step by step in its four stages: (1) constructing, (2) planning, (3) implementing action and (4) evaluation. The communication process in a geographically diverse organization became faster and easier after the 2 cycles. For the first cycle, we relaunched Yammer, encouraged sign-ups and communicated resource materials for them to fully understand the benefits and features of the platform. As we experienced decline in engagement, for cycle 2, we allowed employees to post personal contents thus, resulted to continuous content postings and higher engagement rate. After the 2 cycles, employees are highly informed, engaged and collaborative online as Zuellig- related and non-Zuellig related matters have been posted real-time on Yammer. It also perceived as helpful to their work in the organization and instill inspiration to employees.
