Abstract/Summary

This action research is within the purview of the fields of management and human development. More particularly, it addresses the tasks assignment conflicts in a family owned business through organizational restructuring. The data is generated through active involvement in everyday organizational processes of the organization and regular journalizing. This research also used the integrated approach discussed by Reason and Torbert (2001): first person, second person and third person. Furthermore, it is divided into four basic cycles: constructing, planning action, taking action and evaluating action. This paper’s guiding frameworks are the ADKAR model of change management and the Lasallian Reflection Framework. Ultimately, the research revealed two theories in addressing the aforementioned conflict: One, that as a preventive measure, periodic reviews of the tasks assignment are a necessity; and two, in the existence of such conflict, organizational restructuring will solve the issue.
