Abstract/Summary

This practicum report covers the operation and maintenance of the DZMM AM Radio Transmitter. First, the objectives and significance of the practicum report is presented followed by the operations of the transmitter. Generation of the audio signal and radio frequency of the station as well as the antenna system are also discussed in details. Second, procedure for changing operation from the main transmitter to the back-up transmitter is also included. The shifting of power source from Meralco to standby generator is discussed.The third part of the practicum report covers the transmitter maintaining schedule, preventive maintenance procedures of the equipment and devices as well as troubleshooting procedures. Faults that may cause transmitter trip-offs are also listed. Diagrams are included to aid the discussion. Finally, trouble shooting tips are discussed to help the technicians and engineers maintain the transmitter properly.
