Abstract/Summary

This study aimed to develop Science investigation curriculum for junior high school. The epistemo-onto-methodological framework utilized Participatory Action Research (PAR) as a practice-led research to enrich professional practice hence, built actionable knowledge towards

educational policy and teaching framework development. Three cycles of the plan-do-study- act incorporates dynamic processes through needs assessment analysis, curriculum standards

development, and pilot testing. It integrated social change in education through inclusion of diversified professional views and experiences guided by constant reflection and iteration. The data revealed 10 epistemic and non-epistemic competency constructs comprises of scientific attitude, basic science and integrated process skills, scientific method, nature of ideas, research proposal, design, data processing, research methods and research congress. Competencies were unpacked and accepted in a democratic, empowering and equitable pilot testing. Furthermore, utilized in teachers training which revealed significant contribution on the content, process and procedure. Hence, the study implied that successful curricular reforms were attributed to rationality of content and practice to participate towards a just and democratic educational structure.
