Abstract/Summary

The study generated a rich deposit of indigenous insights of student affairs in the Philippines. Using the tenets of Grounded Theory espoused by Strauss and Corbin (1998) using a multi-site case study of five state universities in the Philippines, the study unfolded substantive theoretical definitions of student development, student affairs and the student transformational process. These eventually paved the way for deriving principles for effective student affairs. The study likewise revealed descriptive accounts of local practices of leadership and management in student affairs.
