Abstract/Summary

The thesis project delved into the predicaments that commuters in Metro Manila have to face on a daily basis in all sorts of public transportation available in the area. The photo essay explored beyond a normal traffic day, rather more of the people experiencing the extreme effects of traffic congestion due to lack of attention given by the government over the past years to this growing problem which concern an increasing number of citizens.

The topic was chosen as it is timely and relevant because many people are involved in the problem which goes beyond being stuck on the road for hours. The uninhabitable status of Metro Manila due to the effects of traffic problems, is nearly approaching as the year 2016 has about five months left before it comes to a close. The role of the government in solving the current traffic situation is very crucial specially now that the Philippines is now having its new sets of political leaders.
