Abstract/Summary

The study presents an automated Styrofoam cutter entitled 2-D Styrofoam Cutting Machine. The machine's cutting path moves along the X, Y, and Z-axes. The Z-axis determines the up and down motion of the cutter and the depth of cut. Stepper Motors drive the mechanical component, which is interfaced with a Personal Computer. The machine can cut different shapes into the Styrofoam because of the computer software's adaptability. But for this purposes, we have limited its range to alphabetical characters and basic shapes.
