Abstract/Summary

Many middlewares and server architectures have been proposed for massively multiplayer online games. However, none of them have taken advantage of HTML5, and many of these solutions rely on large grid-based infrastructures. Not everyone may have access to the infrastructure or technology that makes use of existing solutions. In light of this, this research proposes an HTML5-based middleware where massively multiplayer online games can be played and published with the use of a Web browser that is HTML5-enabled. This research provides an overview of the service architecture, the API and the middleware services that comprise the whole platform itself.
