DLSU SHS Research Congress 2025
Congress Description
De La Salle University (DLSU) continues its commitment to academic excellence and innovation through the DLSU Senior High School Research Congress, the premier gathering of senior high school students, researchers, and educators in the Philippines.
The Congress serves as a platform for students to showcase groundbreaking research, creative solutions, community projects, entrepreneurial ideas, and artistic expressions that reflect the vital role of young researchers in shaping society. The previous edition of the Congress with the theme "Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence: Traversing the Realm of AI for a Smarter and More Sustainable Future" was a testimony to the significant accessibility and extensive reach of the user-friendly digital platform. Over 2,700 participants from more than 55 schools nationwide participated in various capacities. They contributed to over 200 performances, exhibitions, and research presentations across diverse fields, including the arts, humanities, social sciences, life and natural sciences, and business. This significantly enriched the academic discourse across disciplines and reflected the event’s success.
At the heart of this year’s 7th DLSU Senior High School Research Congress, we explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can empower societies, strengthen communities, and bridge technological and social divides. AI is no longer a distant possibility—it is here, actively shaping industries, transforming education, and redefining how we connect. From groundbreaking innovations in healthcare to advancements in sustainability and global collaboration, AI’s influence is undeniable. Yet, as its presence grows, a crucial question arises: How can we, as a nation (bayan)—a collective of individuals, communities, and groups—harness AI’s immense potential while ensuring that human values, ethics, and inclusivity remain at the core of its evolution?
This year’s theme, “AI for Humanity: Reframing the Power of Artificial Intelligence in Empowering Societies and Connecting Communities,” spotlights AI’s transformative potential beyond automation and efficiency. It invites us to reconsider AI’s role not merely as a tool of progress but as a force for humanity—one that deepens human connections, amplifies collective intelligence, and nurtures a future where innovation uplifts all.
Through research and discourse, we steer through AI’s possibilities responsibly, ensuring that as technology advances, our collective commitment to inclusivity and equity remains steadfast. As we strive to realize this vision, it is equally important to examine AI’s ethical dimensions, guaranteeing that its advancements address pressing global challenges. From healthcare innovations and climate resilience to inclusive education and digital equity, the Congress aims to highlight how AI can be harnessed to bridge gaps, uplift communities, and drive meaningful change.
To facilitate these critical conversations and partnerships, the Congress will be delivered through a hybrid and hyflex setup, providing an innovative platform for fostering collaboration and shared insights. This approach ensures that participants from diverse contexts engage meaningfully, contributing to a future where AI empowers societies and strengthens communities.
The Congress aspires to reshape AI’s purpose through interdisciplinary intellectual exchanges, positioning it not just as a driver of technological advancement but as a catalyst for inclusion, equity, and sustainable progress. By uniting young researchers, industry experts, and academic leaders, the 7th DLSU Senior High School Research Congress aims to foster a future where AI uplifts humanity while prioritizing ethical standards, promoting inclusivity, and driving meaningful transformation.
