Abstract/Executive Summary

Alpas is a clothing collection that promotes the Filipino identity in genderless clothing in the fast fashion industry. The researcher hopes to use fashion to eliminate inequalities between men and women in the Philippines. The Philippines is recognized for being conservative and traditional, which factors to current gender inequalities. Those who defy fashion conventions are humiliated and harassed. This motivated the researcher to make an innovation in fashion. This collection is a fusion of modern and traditional clothing that may be worn casually outdoors. Because of its affordability and style, fast fashion is the most accessible to the majority of people. This will be a great chance to promote genderless clothing to a larger audience. Because fast fashion is mostly aimed at young adults, the study will concentrate on them. With the help of conducting a survey, the goal is to develop a trend that is still relevant to today's preferences of most young adults. Clothes are the first thing that people notice and form initial impressions, especially in this time of the pandemic wherein we are obliged to make distance from other people. Therefore, it is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate that our society can embrace diversity and gender equality as we face the new normal. Fashion is a reflection of one's personality. And so, the researcher believes that each individual should be able to wear anything they choose without fear of discrimination or inequalities.
